11th Annual Charity Polo Classic

Combining a Love for Philanthropy and Polo to Raise Money for the Tampa Community

About the Event

The Charity Polo Classic was founded in early December 2011 by Advertising Executive and Professional Polo Player, Chris Gannon and Children’s Cancer Center Board Member, Patrick Moraites. The men decided to combine their love for philanthropy and polo to create an event that is unlike any other in the Tampa Bay area. After reaching out to their business contacts and friends, the 1st Annual Charity Polo Classic Planning Committee was created. The team was given the difficult task of conceptualizing and organizing a large-scale event in only three months. Now, 11 years later we’re on track to raise more money than ever before at our largest event yet!

Suggested Men’s Attire

Typically, men tend to wear chinos or dress pants and a dress shirt to polo. A blazer or sport coat is a useful “layer” and very occasionally a guest might want to wear a tie and a panama hat. Brogues, loafers or driving shoes are excellent choices, together with sun-glasses.

Suggested Women’s Attire

Most women wear separates or dresses with a statement hat to complete the look. Dare to accessorize; a splash of color with a stunning silk scarf or an interestingly shaped clutch will make an outfit ‘pop’ that little bit more. Women should never wear stilettos. Opt instead for a pretty flat or an elegant wedge primarily to join in with the Half Time Divot Stomp.

Food and Beverage

All guests will enjoy complimentary beer, wine, champagne and specialty cocktails. Food stations and food trucks with Tampa’s finest cuisine will be served throughout the event.
