It’s with great appreciation that the Children’s Cancer Center announces Lyrics for Life as our October Partner of the Month. Lyrics for Life is a non-profit organization whose mission is to make a difference in the fight against pediatric cancer. Sister Hazel frontman, Ken Block, and his band mates founded Lyrics For Life in memory of Ken’s younger brother, Jeffrey, who ultimately lost his four-year battle with cancer that started at age 14.
Lyrics for Life unites musicians and celebrities for concerts, auctions, and fundraising initiatives. We’ve been fortunate enough to be a partner for the better part of a decade, enriching the lives of thousands of children and their families. In prior years, the Children’s Cancer Center has sent patients, survivors, their siblings, and parents to attend Camp Hazelnut, an extensive weekend of camping, performances and group activities funded by Lyrics for Life.
Lyrics for Life will be our exclusive Key to the Closet Sponsor at Wine, Women & Shoes and they have generously signed on as the sponsor of our Big Buddy Program. Their generosity will connect first-year medical students with the siblings of diagnosed children, offering great mentorship for the siblings while preparing the next generation of care providers. We are honored to carry out our mission alongside partners like Lyrics for Life!
