It’s with tremendous gratitude that the Children’s Cancer Center recognizes Elisa’s Greatest Wishes as our April Partner of the Month. This Saturday marked the 7th Annual Palm Harbor Spring Fling benefiting Elisa’s Greatest Wishes, a charitable fund created to honor the memory and wishes of Elisa Nelson.
Elisa was known as a dynamic, loving, generous and talented person. She redefined the idea of youth volunteerism and was known for “helping kids be kids”. Elisa’s nature was to help others, which is why Elisa’s Greatest Wises looks to support organizations that help sick children, promote literacy innovation, support animal charities and champion youth development.
Each year, hundreds of community members participate in the 5k and Family Fun Walk in memory of Elisa and her family. Over the years, the race has raised over $2,000,000 with 100% of the proceeds going to Elisa’s adopted charities. The Children’s Cancer Center is fortunate enough to be a beneficiary of the proceeds raised from the race. Each year, memories are made and lives are touched because of the impact Elisa continues to have on the local community. Elisa’s generosity has transcended her time and the Children’s Cancer Center is honored to carry out her legacy.
